About the opportunity

Our client has successfully balanced creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere during day trade with maximising revenue streams in the evening, including events and private venue hire.

Working closely with the Head of Operations, the Head Chef must understand that quality dishes can be delivered in various ways. Some menus at the venue are uncomplicated but executed to a high standard, while others offer creative freedom to push culinary boundaries.

Managing a team of 7+ chefs, apprentices, and kitchen hands, you will need to adapt your management style to bring out the best in each individual.

This role requires a leader who can appreciate and preserve the elements that have contributed to the venue’s longstanding success, while bringing fresh energy to reinvigorate a team full of potential.


The ideal candidate
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef
  • Previous hatted or michelin star experience required
  • Strong kitchen management skills across stock control, COG's, wage costs, food safety and OHS
  • A leader who is able to wear many hats during service, handle volume, and inspire some of Melbourne's most talented Chefs
  • Ability to collaborate with Head of Operations and Executive Chef around menu design, event packages, and operational excellence
