About the opportunity

We are looking to connect with Chefs that have a genuine love for the pub scene and the ability truly knows how to re-invent classics.

Open from lunch to dinner, with a compact menu designed to delight locals and leave weekend tourists wanting to come back for more, the successful candidate will flourish in pressure cooker environments and despite their 'Head Chef' title will be equally as hands on to the Chef either side of them.

The Head Chef will be managing a team of 6, taking full Kitchen P&L accountability, coaching, recruitment, and performance management duties on top of the daily shift running.

Working closely with an Operations Manager, you'll be part of a core team responsible for reinvigorating a venue with ample potential and the view to becoming one of Hobart's most popular food and beverage destinations.

What you'll get in return

  • Full time permanent position. Rotating roster - must have availability from morning to evening, Monday to Sunday

What our client is looking for
  • Previous Sous Chef or Head Chef experience is essential, preferably within the pub scene
  • A Chef that is equally motivated by results, quality and people - this is not the Head Chef role for someone to be in the background, you will need to wear many hats
  • Certificate III Commercial Cookery or apprentice trained
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organised, professional attitude
  • Someone who strives for excellence regardless the level of cuisine
  • A real team player and coach to your people
This role does not offer sponsorship/ not suitable for Working Holiday Visas
