About the job opportunity

At this business the Sous Chef, under the direction of the Head Chef, supervises, trains, coaches, and drives engagement with their team to ensure the highest-quality culinary experience for guests is maximised.

You will be shift managing in the absence of the Head Chef, but will play a key role in kitchen operations operations every day - assisting with labour control, managing inventory, ordering to budget, ensuring high levels of Food Hygiene compliance, maintaining kitchen areas and maintaining supplier relationships.

The venue is well known amongst locals for offering only the freshest and best local and regional produce.
This business does not over complicate it's menus, in fact, the menu is quite predictable, but what sets them apart from their competitors is their consistency and execution in delivering simple food to a very high level.

If you are someone who enjoys working in relaxed dining atmospheres and knows how to deliver excellence using great local produce then we want to connect with you.

The candidate
  • You're a Chef with capability and ability to lead small to medium sized teams on shift
  • You have strong communication skills and styles - whether it's finding a solution to a service issue or providing team with feedback
  • Possesses a basic understanding of cost control, managing inventory and stock levels
  • Confident cooking on a grill to order
  • You have previous a la carte experience at a Sous Chef or similar level
  • Looking to collaborate with a Head Chef who will create opportunities for you to step up 
  • Training and development opportunities
