This stunning Winery are seeking an experienced, hands on, passionate and dynamic head chef to lead our small kitchen team located 20 min out of CBR

About Us

Our client are a rich history and progressive outlook. They are an innovative, contemporary and renowned Canberra region estate providing quality wine tastings, dining experiences, events and functions.

Their multifaceted food offer provides a la carte and grazing board dining within the cellar door, along with grazing and picnic offerings for guests to enjoy across our picturesque vineyard setting.

Their small kitchen team also manufacture our own range of condiments which we sell within our cellar door retail area and distribute across the country as we continue to grow and build our brand nationally. 

You & The Role

The successful applicant will be dedicated, energetic and a self-motivated professional who is capable of working in a fast-paced environment and able to lead and manage a team.

It is essential that you are passionate about creating great food using the freshest ingredients from seasonally available produce as well as adapting to new and evolving food trends.

Experience in as Senior Sous Chef/Head Chef in a similar sized or larger venue would be desirable and an ability to work well under pressure is essential. This is an opportunity to showcase your culinary skills & talent as well as providing the opportunity to raise your own profile within the industry.

As a key member of the management team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the kitchen department. 

Responsibilities
  • Food preparation, cookery and delivery.
  • Ordering
  • Management of staff
  • Rostering
  • Menu creation & costing
  • Stock control & management
  • Assisting with co-ordination of functions
  • Food & Health and Safety Compliance
The winery operates Thursday – Monday as well as public holidays. 
The Restaurant is open for Dinner Thursday and Friday evenings only unless there is a private event 

Requirements:
  • Drivers License and own Transport - No public transport for this location.
  • Must have full unrestricted Australian working rights. 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a chef.
  • Hold a current food safety supervisor certificate. 
  • Desirably possess a first aid certificate.
