Our client: 

This restaurant is situated in the heart of Auckland city's dining district and is part of one of New Zealand's leading hospitality groups, our client has been around for 11 years and has been a consistent performer for locals and tourists.

The role: 

We are after an exceptional Head Chef who is not only skilled in Japanese cuisine but is passionate about fantastic food, sushi and sashimi. 

The menu offers a beautiful mix of modern and traditional. Our client is after an experienced Head Chef who can take the lead of the BOH team and continue to deliver the exquisite menu that has been performing for a decade. 

A key area of focus for this role will be your ability to develop and mentor chefs, a true leader that can identify and progress a strong number 2 in the kitchen. 

You can also expect to be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, food presentation and quality, cost management, supplier relationship management and liaising with the group executive head chef. 

What skills will you bring: 
  • Proven experience in Japanese cuisine 
  • Strength and passion for leading and developing chefs 
  • Experience leading a team of 10x + 
  • Driven, inspiring attitude
