lead a team of dedicated and passionate chefs at a stunning venue based on the outskirts of Auckland.

Our client is synonymous with quality and has been since its inception, it provides an experience like none other to their customers. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an energetic and passionate Head Chef to lead & control multiple sites in one location. With a recent change in ownership our client is looking for an experienced Head Chef to take ownership of their entire food offering across the estate from the traditional restaurant, to events space, and outdoor activity offerings. This truly is a role to make your own. 

Key responsibilities: 
  • Lead a team of 10 + staff including training and development 
  • Financial management including labour costs, food costs, procurement 
  • Plan, develop & execute strategies within the kitchen including regular menu development 
  • Stock control & management 
  • Maintain a high standard of food safety across all kitchens 
  • Recruit, induct and performance manage staff as and when required
  • Work cohesively with the owner, General Manager and Restaurant Manager  
Experience and attributes required: 
  • 4+ years experience as a Head Chef in a fine dining / premium NZ environment
  • European cuisine experience is preferred 
  • Proven experience running an effective kitchen that provides exceptional food offering to guests 
  • Confidence and experience creating and delivering new food concepts and menu development
  • Impeccable time management skills
  • Experience working across multiple kitchens is preferred along with experience delivering private events and functions 
  • Passion for high-quality food 
  • Commitment to a Wednesday - Sunday roster
