Duty Managers | Find Your Next Move Across Sydney

Love leading a busy shift, backing your team and keeping a venue running at its best? Your next opportunity could be closer than you think.
Hospoworld is partnering with hospitality businesses across Sydney to recruit Duty Managers ahead of the busy season.

From neighbourhood pubs and lively bars to established clubs and larger hospitality destinations, we have opportunities to suit different strengths and career goals. Whether you enjoy knowing your regulars by name or thrive in a high-volume operation, we’d love to help you find your next move.

The Opportunities
Each venue offers something different, but you can expect a hands-on role where your leadership makes a difference to the team and guest experience.

Depending on the position, your responsibilities may include:
  • Taking charge of daily shifts, overseeing service, staffing and venue presentation.
  • Leading teams across food and beverage, bar, gaming and customer service.
  • Coordinating staff deployment and breaks to keep service flowing.
  • Supporting the team on the floor and stepping in where needed.
  • Handling guest feedback and resolving concerns calmly and confidently.
  • Maintaining venue procedures, responsible service and workplace safety standards.
  • Overseeing opening and closing, cash handling, reconciliations and handovers.
  • Responding to incidents and working closely with security when required.
  • Coaching team members and setting clear expectations.
  • Assisting with rostering, labour costs, stock control, functions and events where relevant.
Who We’re Looking For
You could be an experienced Duty Manager ready for a change, an Assistant Manager exploring a new environment or a strong Supervisor looking to step up.

You’ll bring:
  • Experience leading a team in a pub, club, bar, restaurant or comparable hospitality venue.
  • A confident, approachable leadership style and a willingness to get involved.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to prioritise during busy shifts.
  • Sound judgement when handling guest concerns or challenging situations.
  • Clear communication with guests, colleagues, security and management.
  • Experience with POS systems, cash handling and shift reporting.
  • A current NSW RSA, plus current RCG for opportunities involving gaming.
Gaming, TAB/Keno, rostering, stock control and functions experience will be valued for relevant roles. Additional qualifications, such as ARCG or First Aid, may be required or highly regarded depending on the venue.

Roster Requirements
These roles involve rotating rosters, with availability needed across weekends, evenings, nights, late finishes and public holidays. We’ll discuss the specific requirements of each opportunity with you.

Apply now with your CV and tell us about your availability and the kind of venue you’d love to join. Contact Rachel at Hospoworld for a confidential chat.
