Head Chef

Seeking a Head Chef who is a true operator. Someone who leads from the front, works the pass during service and sets the tone for the entire kitchen team.

The business operates in a fast paced, high volume environment where systems, speed and consistency are critical to success. The successful candidate will bring structure, strong leadership and a strong commercial mindset to the kitchen while maintaining quality food and a positive team culture.
  
This role is well suited to a chef who has built their career in busy, high volume kitchens and is now looking for a role where they can make an impact while also progressing their career.
  
The Role   
  • Lead the kitchen team from the front during busy service periods
  • Maintain quality and consistency across a high volume service environment
  • Manage kitchen performance including food cost, labour and productivity
  • Drive strong prep systems and service organisation
  • Train, mentor and develop junior kitchen team members
  • Create a positive and accountable kitchen culture
  • Manage ordering, stock control and waste reduction
  • Ensure kitchen systems and processes are consistently followed
  • Support menu development while ensuring dishes remain operationally efficient
About You
  • An experienced Head Chef or senior kitchen leader from a high volume environment
  • Experience in quick service, fast casual, high volume café or busy gastro pub style venues
  • Strong commercial understanding including food cost and labour management
  • Comfortable working with KPIs and performance targets
  • A systems driven operator who understands kitchen structure and workflow
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A people focused leader who enjoys developing teams and building stability
  • Strong food knowledge with the ability to balance creativity with operational efficiency
