The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple venues within a designated region. This role provides leadership, mentorship, and operational support to Venue Leaders and their teams to ensure the business meets its financial, cultural, and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Development
- Lead and develop Venue Leaders through clear direction, accountability, and ongoing support
- Foster a positive workplace culture with open communication, recognition, and team engagement
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with Venue Leaders to maintain continuous dialogue
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of all new leaders and team members
- Coach Venue Leaders on performance management, disciplinary matters, and professional development
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide actionable feedback
- Ensure all venues and teams comply with company policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Monitor payroll, labour costs, and COGS to achieve budget and profitability targets
- Oversee venue stocktake processes and weekly reporting, addressing any discrepancies promptly
- Conduct monthly leadership meetings covering financial performance, business strategy, and people management
- Maintain high standards of personal presentation and operational compliance across all venues
- Model and enforce excellent guest service standards across all venues
- Ensure all team members are trained to provide consistent and professional guest experiences
- Address escalated guest concerns with professionalism and care
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the guest journey
- Maintain product quality standards across all venues
- Support Venue Leaders in managing inventory, seasonal offerings, and supplier relationships
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and legislative requirements
- Promote product knowledge through regular training and coaching
- Promote a safe and healthy workplace, adhering to all Workplace Health & Safety policies
- Oversee incident reporting, risk assessments, and compliance audits
- Ensure venue teams are trained and following all safety protocols
- Collaborate with Venue Leaders to implement local sales growth initiatives
- Support venue-level marketing and community engagement opportunities
- Contribute to business planning and expansion strategies
- Achievement of business KPIs including sales, labour, COGS, and YOY sales growth
- Development of high-performing teams and strong leadership pipeline
- Consistent coaching and mentoring of leaders to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Completion and follow-up of quality, safety, and standards audits
- Accuracy and currency of all training records and performance evaluations
- 3-5 years' experience in hospitality management, ideally in QSR, fast-food, or multi-site operations
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing teams
- Experience managing P&L, labour, and operational KPIs
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Hands-on approach and ability to lead by example
- Ability to work across multiple venues and manage competing priorities
- Base Salary: $115,000-$125,000 + Super
- Motor Vehicle Allowance (MVA)
