As the venue continues to develop its culinary offering, we’re looking for an experienced Sous Chef to work closely with an accomplished Head Chef. This is an opportunity to bring your creativity to the kitchen, influence the food direction and make a genuine impact across premium events and the venue’s growing cellar door offering.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role for a capable Sous Chef who enjoys balancing creativity with strong kitchen operations.
Working across weddings, functions and the cellar door, you’ll help deliver exceptional food while bringing fresh ideas to seasonal menus, creative specials and new dining experiences.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen
- Confidently leading the team in the Head Chef’s absence
- Contributing creative ideas to seasonal menus and specials
- Helping shape and grow the cellar door food offering
- Managing preparation, ordering, stock control and service
- Leading the kitchen across weddings, functions and cellar door service
- Mentoring junior chefs and encouraging initiative within the team
- Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative and well-organised kitchen culture
We’re looking for a chef who combines creativity with calm, capable leadership.
You’ll bring:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef within a quality hospitality environment
- Experience across events, functions, premium dining or high-volume service
- A genuine passion for food, seasonal produce and menu creation
- The confidence to contribute ideas and help evolve the cellar door offering
- Strong kitchen organisation and operational ability
- A calm and composed approach during busy services
- The ability to lead, mentor and bring the best out of a team
- A collaborative attitude with the confidence to take ownership
