THE VENUE
A new neighbourhood French wine bar opening in the inner-east. Inspired by the intimate, convivial bars of Paris. Classic bistro dishes, an exceptional wine list, and around 40 seats across indoor and outdoor. The smallest venue in the group to date, and arguably the one with the most soul.
This is a founding role. You won't be stepping into someone else's venue, you'll be building the identity of this one from day one.
THE ROLE
They need a Venue Manager who will become a face of this place within the local community. Someone who doesn't just run a tight floor but genuinely loves what a small, intimate venue can be. The regulars, the neighbourhood relationships, the sense that something special is happening here.
You'll lead a small team, work closely with the venue Sommelier, and be responsible for driving a beverage-led model while maintaining an exceptional food experience. This is not a high-volume transactional environment. It's something quieter, more considered.
- Manage day-to-day venue operations across a small, premium floor
- Lead and develop the ARM/Somm and floor team
- Drive wine sales and conversations confidently alongside the venue Sommelier
- Build guest return rate and community engagement from the ground up
- Own team training, culture, and service standards
- Report directly into Group Ops
- Solid wine knowledge - you'll need to drive wine sales and conversations confidently
- Service leadership experience in premium, boutique, or neighbourhood hospitality
- Background in neighbourhood dining, wine bars, or French/European venues
- Authentically warm personality, not just professionally polished
- WSET or equivalent wine study preferred, but not essential if experience is strong
- Someone who thrives building regulars and community, not chasing covers
- $90,000-$95,000 + superannuation + 30% staff discount across the group's full portfolio
